See how we use our surpluses and volunteer energy…

Broadway Books is a  project of Broadway Social Enterprise.  A community Social Enterprise, we are based in Burton on Trent, UK. We have no shareholders or hidden funds and re-invest everything in our enterprise projects for community benefit.

Our broader project uses whatever surpluses we make to foster the work of our volunteers in support of our therapeutic garden in Branston Road. All of us, however, have a passion for good books.

Using the ‘Buy from Broadway Books’ button:

You can proceed to purchase by using the buy button (…see below), an encrypted secure payment page opens, which has a purchase list of our current featured titles and resources. Select your titles, then follow the arrows to complete your purchase.

You can go back or return to the book view page at any time.

We do not currently make any charge for delivery.

How long will my book take to reach me?

We despatch single titles by the UK postal service. We plan to allow seven days for delivery/order turnaround. Often we do much better than this, wherever possible.

Our social enterprise supply partner – Books go Walkabout – is part of SmithMartin LLP in Cambridge, UK and are book suppliers and publishers of longstanding to the community market.

Will I get an invoice?

Every retail purchase made on our site is automatically emailed a receipt from our secure payment system, Stripe, with full details of your purchase, by return, at the time you make your transaction – day or night.

If you directly order stock with us by official purchase order, contract call-off or agreed specification, as a Local Authority, school, social enterprise, other institution or legal entity, we create traditional sales ledger invoices from our not for profit company, with full commercial details of the transaction as expected.

Is my information and personal data secure?:

Always. Your card purchase is encrypted and managed by Stripe. You can discover the quality of Stripe security on-line here.

Broadway Books and it’s projects never, ever trade your details and we comply with all tax and data protection regulation wherever we operate. Guaranteed.

Is my book(s) first quality?

Always. Our partner fulfilment warehouse in Cambridge has accounts with all the major publishers and wholesalers. They use their expertise to only supply us with high quality books, in terms of design, creativity, writing and illustration. We care about it too!

Which area do you cover?

We are particularly interested in supporting community enterprise in the Nottinghamshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire region.

If you order a book from our website see our first FAQ above. Happy to serve you anywhere.

I am ordering from outside the UK?

Stripe is available in 48 countries. Check your Stripe country web pages for any additional charges.

We will advise you of any entry complications for our products, within 24 hours of your order placement. If we cannot ship for any reason out of our control, a full refund is made.

I am a teacher, childcare professional, community business or social enterprise – can I order multiple titles, or books by theme?

We are always happy to hear from book purchasers in established settings, particularly in our service area of Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

Please contact us with details of your needs. Whether planning to start a community bookshop, educational book event or for re-stocking a community library, for example, we are happy to compile book lists and to offer procurement and delivery advice without commitment.

What if I am unhappy?

The seeds for our ethical project enterprise were sown in our local church and we love good books, our book business and our book customers. We want happy readers and especially book-owning children. We recognise that even the best systems or people fail sometimes.

If you have any queries about our Broadway Books, service or operating ethos please contact us. You can find the Broadway policies, including complaints, on our policies page here.

‘If we get it wrong, do please give us the chance to put it right. Every Broadway person is committed to helping you, our community and our volunteers. We value your support always…’
